Historic Landmark buildings pose a unique conundrum: How to preserve and celebrate these heritage structures when updating them to accommodate present-day uses?
For some, this may be primarily a question about style. For us as designers, we engage Style as a term that is defined in the eye of the beholder, and in doing so, we have come to love many different styles. Some may favor historical precedent, others may be fascinated by Platonic rules of aesthetics, yet many will perceive it through a more social lens, one that has to do with human interactions and different groups’ roles in various settings.
